Information about the contest

Overview

This contest is an online coding contest created by young enthusiasts aimed to provide preparation for other coding competitions, especially the IOI and its prerequisites. The problems are written according to the IOI syllabus, but with lower difficulty; this is because we want to create a friendly learning environment for everyone, and not only those who are highly competitive. Nonetheless, we promise include problems to challenge the highly skilled ones.

The contests will be held every first Saturdays of the month, 19:00–22:00 UTC+7. The contest platform is currently Codeforces, which is reliable and user friendly. We do not have fundings at the moment, making it impossible to afford enough resources to host contests on our own website.

Format

The contest consists of 3 competitive programming problems: one easy, one medium, and one difficult. You are given 3 hours to solve them. Supported programming languages are C, C++, Java, and Python. Each language will be allowed different time limits and memory limits, depending on the performance of each one.

We highly recommend using Chrome or Firefox to access the contest platform. Other browsers, such as Safari, have been known to cause error.

You may ask for clarification during the contest. We will try our best to reply as soon as possible.

After each contest, the link will be posted under “Contest Archive” section of this website. Problems from the contest will be available there.

Rules

Like all other coding contest, there are certain rules that apply to all contestants.

• You may not communicate with, ask for help from, or give help to other contestants.

• You are not allowed to lookup or copy code from any sources, be it textbooks or the internet.

• You must not tamper with the contest platform by any means.

Violating any of the rules above may result in consequences.

Despite being prohibited elsewhere, reverse engineering is not prohibited here. We see it as a method achieving the correct output; moreover, we are confident that the points gained from reverse engineering will be insignificant.
